It has become quite popular for musicians and rappers to transition into acting and go on to have successful careers. However, the same can’t be said for actors that try to transition into the world of musical entertainment. There has been minimal success if any, and most of this comes from former Disney stars such as Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus. The reality is that most actors that made albums or songs failed miserably at convincing their fan base they have musical talent. The list below highlights albums that were released by actors and never created a buzz, despite their celebrity status. Take a look and see which actors actually recorded music at one time in their career.
1. David Hasselhoff
David Hasselhoff decided to record and release the album Jump In My Car, which debuted on October 20, 2006. The album did garner some success, debuting at number three on the UK Singles Chart. But it’s still safe to say that this was something Hasselhoff should have kept to himself.
2. Tyra Banks
America’s Next Top Model producer and former model Tyra Banks released her first and only single Shake Ya Body, in 2004. The video featured the final six contestants of cycle 2 of America’s Next Top Model. Tyra Banks admitted that even though she pursued her dream of making a song, it was a failure and not all things work out like you want them.
3. Naomi Campbell
International model Naomi Campbell released an album titled Babywoman on October 3, 1994. The album had some success in Japan and didn’t make the charts in the US or UK, but she did make an interesting album cover
4. Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan released the album Speak on December 7, 2004. Lindsay’s album did receive some success, reaching the fourth spot on the Billboard charts. However, most critics claim this is due to her success as a child actor more than her singing ability. Because of all the negative publicity Lindsay received from paparazzi, a possible tour overseas was scrapped.
